This week, I’ve been taking some much-needed time to sit in the sunshine with a notebook, and to think about my third novel.

I’ve had some lovely comments about it - both on the post itself, and via email. Any time that happens, it reminds me how important it is to share my experiences, and that if I’m struggling with something, there’s almost certainly someone else out there who’s struggling with the same thing.
It reminds me how important it is for us to be a community of writers. To support one another, not only in the obvious practical ways, like sharing each others’ posts and talking about one anothers’ books and projects, but also in the more subtle ways. Being open and honest about what it’s like to live and work as a writer. Creating a culture of support.
